Massaya's father, the adoptive son of the Rattanamahasarn family, is expelled for marrying a "low-class" Malay woman. After both parents pass away, Massaya is raised by her maternal grandfather. Years later, Massaya, a free-spirited and boyish woman, is brought back to the family by her grandmother, who feels guilty for the past. Upon returning, Massaya struggles to fit in with the strict rules and her condescending relatives, finding comfort only in her cousin Lak while facing constant bullying from her cousins and their mother.
