Anthropology student Gu Bu Xia, raised in a temple, has always feared ghosts despite his grandfather being a spirit medium. Shielded by a talisman from childhood, Bu Xia's peace shatters after his grandfather's death and a temple accident weakens the talisman. As ghost voices torment him, Bu Xia's life is further disrupted by a new roommate, law student Jiang Chi, whose cold demeanor contrasts with Bu Xia's.
